- Environmental Biology (BIOL 1060) - The objective of the course is to provide the student with an introduction to the science of ecology and an understanding of the scientific principles that may provide solutions to the world's environmental problems.
- Ichthyology (BIOL 5550/5551) – the biology of fishes, including their evolution, anatomy, physiology, and ecology. Fall Semesters 2004 - 2024
- Estuarine Ecology (BIOL 4800, 7010). The ecology of estuaries, including physical and chemical processes, ecology of phytoplankton, algae, seagrasses, marshes, benthic invertebrates, fishes and human impacts. 1998-2024.
- Marine Field Ecology in Panama (BIOL 4500), conducted at the Smithsonian laboratories at Galeta and Bocas del Toro. Course open to both upper-level undergraduates and graduate students. We stay at the the Bocas del Toro and Punta Galeta STRI laboratories, and travel to the remote San Blas Island, to live among the Guna people of coastal Panama. Summer Session I 2009-2014.
- Data analysis for Coastal Resources Management (CRM 7008) – Dr. Luczkovich is writing a book for students in this course about the quantitative data analysis procedures used by CRM faculty, with examples of analyses done in the free statistical program R, with accompanying R code. Topics include: t-tests, ANOVA, Repeated Measures ANOVA, non-parametric alternatives to these tests, correlation, linear regression, multiple linear regression, assessing model adequacy, network models, and multivariate analyses.
